Join Our Team in Munich
Do you enjoy working on bikes and take pride in keeping them in excellent condition? We are looking for an experienced and reliable Bike Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of city bikes and e-bikes in Munich.
We are open to hiring either a part-time employee or a freelance mechanic, depending on the experience and availability of the successful candidate.
As one of Munich's leading bike tour and rental companies, we welcome thousands of guests from around the world each year. Our mechanics play a vital role in ensuring every bike is safe, reliable, and ready for the road.
Expected Hours
This is a flexible position with hours that vary throughout the year based on operational needs.
- April – September (Peak Season): Approximately 6–8 hours per week
- October – November & March: Approximately 6–8 hours every two weeks
- December – February: Hours will be limited and scheduled as needed, primarily for preventative maintenance, larger repairs, and preparing the fleet for the upcoming season.
Additional hours may be available during particularly busy periods or larger maintenance projects.
Responsibilities
As part of our operations team, you will help keep our fleet in excellent condition by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and workshop organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Repairing punctures and replacing tires and tubes
- Adjusting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic brake systems
- Adjusting gears and drivetrains
- Replacing chains, wheels, pedals, saddles, grips, and other components as needed
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
- Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting on Bosch-powered e-bikes
- Ensuring the fleet is safe, reliable, and ready for daily rentals and guided tours
- Monitoring spare parts inventory and assisting with parts orders
- Maintaining basic service records and identifying bikes requiring more extensive repairs or retirement from the fleet
- Helping keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and enjoys solving mechanical problems. You should be comfortable working independently while communicating effectively with our operations team.
Qualifications
- Previous experience repairing and maintaining bicycles
- Experience servicing Bosch-powered e-bikes is an advantage
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Basic computer skills
- English or German language skills (both are an advantage)
- Legal authorization to work in Germany
