Location: Secaucus, NJ (Warehouse)
Schedule: Full-time, including weekends
Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting products between our warehouse and various retail and storage locations using a 26-foot truck, as well as assisting with warehouse duties as needed. This role will require a flexible schedule, including weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a 26-foot truck, transporting products between the warehouse and designated destinations, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload products from the truck, using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, ensuring proper handling and security of goods.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, reporting any issues or maintenance concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, routes, and any issues encountered during transportation.
- Assist with warehouse tasks, such as receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and preparing customer orders for shipment, as needed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the truck, warehouse, and associated equipment.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, customers, and supervisors to coordinate deliveries and address any concerns or issues.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and operation of warehouse equipment.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to meet company goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving in New York City.
- 2 years of experience driving trucks, preferably 26-foot trucks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
